En SFX publican una entrevista a Phil Collinson, productor de Doctor Who sobre el especial de navidad de este año. Advierto, la entrevista está llena de spoilers…
SFX: Last time we saw the Doctor the TARDIS had been hit by the Titanic. So on the face of it you might think this Christmas special isn’t gonna be Christmassy, because the Titanic sailed in June… so is it Christmassy?
COLLINSON: “It’s jam-packed with Christmas – it’s full of it! So it does feel very much in the spirit of all our other specials. It’d have to be really, on Christmas Day – I think it would be odd if they were basking on the beach somewhere, y’know! I’m a traditionalist, I think you’ve got a bit of Christmas about it, a bit of snow somewhere and some tinsel and some angels and a Christmas tree thrown in there and a bit of Santa Claus, and we’ve got all of that.
“It’s Christmassy because it’s not the real Titanic. It’s a spaceship that’s full of aliens and is hovering above Earth and they’re doing a bit of an experience cruise to the planet Earth, basically, so they’ve built their spaceship to be a replica of a famous Earth ship. And they beam down onto the planet secretly and have a little look round and stuff so… yes, it’s their Christmas cruise and they’re celebrating an earth Christmas. It’s a theme cruise.”SFX: Has it got anything in common with the James Cameron movie, apart from the obvious?
“What, do you mean have we ripped the script off or something? (laughs) We don’t need to do that! It’s startlingly original. I mean, it’s flying above the Earth, you man – what you talking about? Completely different!”

Mientras mucha gente se sigue preguntando cuando Samir sacará para todo el mundo su RotateMe 2.0 (en teoría este salía ayer, pero el programador comentó en un foro que estaba muy cansado y que lo sacaría hoy… supongo que habrá que seguir esperando) o su Nokmote, se ha entretenido haciendo una pequeña aplicación para reproducir vídeos de YouTube en el Nokia N95: YTPlayer.
La aplicación es todavía muy espartana, casi sin opciones, pero bueno, es una versión preliminar. Antes de ejecutarla, requiere tener instalado Adobe FlashLite 3.

La primera referencia que tuve de este libro fue la de Pjorge: #10 The Philosophy Files 2 de Stephen Law y realmente la descripción del libro me pareció muy interesante. Ahora que lo he podido ojear por encima, con los dibujos y los temas tratados, aún me apetece más leerlo… tendré precaución… o podría convertirse en mi libro #51 de este año…

El motivo de mi carta es pedirle que, por favor, este año no me conciencien más. La verdad es que me preocupa, como a todos, las grandes pérdidas del sector discográfico y audiovisual. El día que el director de Fedicine dijo que “se están despidiendo ejecutivos” por culpa de los piratas y que esto es “un drama muy grave”, apenas pude conciliar el sueño. No hay nada que me de más miedo que un montón de ejecutivos caminando sueltos por las calles sin nada con lo que entretenerse.

Este fin de semana escuchando Pink Floyd mientras hacía diversas cosas en casa, mi cabeza se empezó a fijar en su tema High Hopes
Sabía que había otro grupo que hizo una versión del tema y que había escuchado recientemente, pero no caía en cual. Al final la Wikipedia me sacó de dudas y aquí tenéis la versión de dicho tema por parte de Nightwish

Hace mucho tiempo que no uso un bolígrafo Bic Cristral, pero después de leer este análisis en Amazon me entraron ganas de comprar uno
Since taking delivery of my pen I have been very happy with the quality of ink deposition on the various types of paper that I have used. On the first day when I excitedly unwrapped my pen (thanks for the high quality packaging Amazon!) I just couldn’t contain my excitement and went around finding things to write on, like the shopping list on the notice board in our kitchen, the Post-it notes next to the phone, and on my favourite lined A4 pad at the side of my desk.
My pen is the transparent type with a blue lid. I selected this one in preference to the orange type because I like to be able to see how much ink I have left so that I can put in another order before I finally run out.
When the initial excitement of taking delivery of my new pen started to wear off I realised that I shouldn’t just write for the fun of it, this should be a serious enterprise,…
