No solamente de Doctor Who vive uno, más cosas interesantes han pasado en la Comic-Con, sobretodo las relacionadas con Joss Whedon y Doctor Horrible.
La gran noticia obviamente es que tienen planeado hacer nuevos capítulos de la serie. Después de ver el personaje de Death-Horse, era casi obligado continuar la serie. Desde luego, Joss Whedon esta encantado con esto de las webseries
“I’m older, and balder/wiser than when I made Firefly, and I approach things differently. I take it one episode at a time. And any episode we don’t get out…I can make stuff on the internet now!” Cheers.
“Besides the fact that we all had an enormous amount of fun, this was designed to be a model for a new way to put out media, an artistic community that involves all of you guys, and all of us, and maybe not so much… other people.”

Casi tan importante como eso fue la la confirmación de que en unas semanas estará disponible la banda sonora de la serie ¡Un montón de letras interesantes para poder cantar en el coche o en la ducha!
Unas frases para recordar del panel
Fillion on his penis: “Shaped like a hammer. (To Joss) You saw it.” Joss: “That was a great day. The day I gave him the part of Mal.”
A parte de esto hubo más cositas relacionadas con Joss Whedon. De entrada la confirmación de nuevos cómics de Serenity. Más interesante que los cómics es la idea de que a Joss Whedon le gustaría crear algún webepisode de Firefly, desde luego a mí me encantaría.
También es curioso la mención de que Russell T. Davies está interesado en hacer algo similar a ‘Once More with Feeling’ para Torchwood, obviamente con un guión escrito por Joss Whedon. A este le encanta la idea, pero piensa que lo debería escribir Davies. La verdad, un capítulo de Torchwood escrito por Whedon y actuando James Marsters sería apoteósico.
Que Firefly es una de mis series favoritas no es ningún secreto para quien lleve leyendo este blog desde hace algunos años. A través de Microsiervos descubro esta página: Firefly Timeline, una completa recopilación en orden cronológico de todo más o menos relevante que ocurre en la serie de televisión (tal vez le sobre un poco sobre la historia de la independencia de Estados Unidos, pero que le vamos hacer).

Okay, okay, okay: Lets address these Serenity 2 rumors before anything else. I have no idea what you people are talking about! Seems to me someone (with a name that starts with A and ends in LAN) said something in an interview that was misconstrued as the sequel being greenlit, which is not the case at the moment. I will never say it will never happen, because that’s just blasphemy in my opinion, but it’s not happening at the moment… no matter what you read on the internet. You know better than to believe everything you read, anyway! (except this blog… cuz it’s all true.)
Sí, ya sé que la noticia tiene un par de días de antigua, pero es que uno no da para mucho más últimamente.
El rumor lo ha generado Alan Tudyk, más conocido por Wash. Según él, Universal esta vendiendo muy bien el dvd de Serenity (motivo por el cual han sacado la edición de coleccionista, que me llegará dentro de poco). Con este éxito de ventas, pues la Universal esta por hacer otra película. Todo el mundo supone que será para ser vendida directamente en dvd, dado la baja recaudación taquilla de la primera edición de la misma.
“They had to put [the new DVD] out because they’ve been selling out of the other one and so Universal’s like ‘So, let’s do another one’. And now… there’s now a chance there’s going to be another movie”.
Parece que Firefly no se quiere marchar todavía de los medios. Su último intento de conseguir convencer a otro estudio de que continúen la serie viene de mano de la edición de coleccionista de la película Serenity. Acaba de salir a la venta, y ya está de número cuatro de los dvds más vendidos en Amazon

“We have done the impossible, and that makes us mighty.”
As the credits rolled the first time I saw Serenity, I found that I was not simply entertained by an exciting adventure … I was inspired. Based on everything I have come to know and expect from the Hollywood machine, this film should not exist, and yet here it is. This simply does not happen, and it took some time for me to collect my awe and exit the theater after that first viewing. But the victory is not confined to the film’s existence, for this is much more than some average little film made to appease the niche fans of a cancelled television series. This is a film for the masses, a bona fide kickass movie with wide-reaching appeal that will hopefully make it to the countless unaware viewers who would almost certainly enjoy it as much as the rest of us have. If you don’t own the first version of this DVD, then my recommendation is a no-brainer, as I enjoyed this every bit as much as the first time I saw it. If you’re wondering whether to purchase another one, however, I’d suggest that the DTS track, the cast commentary, and the “Filmmaker’s Journey” featurette are all worth owning, and the price point is reasonable enough to once again rate this title as Highly Recommended.
Para el mes probablemente la compre, esta bastante barata en Amazon y además hay que aprovechar que el dólar está tan bajo con respecto al euro.
Esta semana, a través de reddit, llegué a esta página: Colors Pretty, la cual hace un análisis de los mejores y peores empieces de series de ciencia ficción y realmente no puedo estar más en desacuerdo. Mirar a quién ponen como uno de los peores.
¿Peores?, realmente este empiece puede ser uno de los pocos que no le doy al botón de adelantar cuando aparece en pantalla. Y, obviamente, uno se pone a cantar la letra mientras pasan las escenas de presentación de los personajes…
En una entrevista a Joss Whedon este insinúa que si la ventas de Serenity son buenas (hablando de la edición especial que sale ahora), puede qué algún estudio puede estar interesada en hacer otra entrega…

So then you’re saying we’ve got a chance?
JW: Well it’s probably not being discussed in boardrooms right now, but the fact of the matter is if it makes enough money sooner or later they say “hey, this is money!” Also there are paradigms that are much cheaper, it doesn’t have to be enormous. But on the other hand I’m happy to say all of my actors are working very hard. It’s not the same situation where we all threw in for pennies because we had to finish telling that story. Now that situation might be harder to bring about.
La verdad es que las palabras de Joss Whedon suenan más a una esperanza por su parte de que eso suceda a que realmente exista la posibilidad… pero como en todo, el tiempo dirá.
Continuo por aquí con mis comentarios de capítulos de Firefly, que desde luego los estoy haciendo de forma bastante desordenada. En Ariel se observa por primera vez un planeta central de la Alianza, en el cual Simon muestra su talento por el crimen -con el objetivo de ayudar a su hermana- y Jayne el nivel más bajo al que puede llegar.
Jayne comete una traición a la tripulación de Serenity en busca de una cuantiosa recompensa económica. No es algo que sorprenda, dado que el personaje ya lo lleva insinuando desde hace bastante tiempo -su conversación con Mal al final del capítulo Serenity es de lo más esclarecedora.- Aún así, al final del capítulo, vemos que a pesar de tener más amor al dinero que a su dignidad, le preocupa lo que los otros miembros de la nave piensen de él, y le pide al capitán que invente cualquier mentira antes de que lo mate.

Simon: Corpses, actually. For this to work, River and I will have to be dead. Jayne: Huh. I’m starting to like this plan.
Mientras Simon averigua que la Alianza ha jugado con el cerebro de su hermana cortando pedacitos aquí y allá, aparecen en escena los temibles agentes que los buscan, esos a los que River se refiere como Two by Two Hands of Blue. A parte de su interés por aniquilar a cualquiera que entre en contacto con River y su falta de escrúpulos, poco más es explicado de ellos en la serie. Habrá que esperar a los cómics para saber más de ellos.
Inara: What’s going on here? Kaylee: Oh, well, let’s see. We killed Simon and River, stole a bunch of medicine, and now the Captain ‘n’ Zoë are off springing the others got snatched by the feds!
Yo por mi parte, cada vez que veo unos guantes de látex azules me acuerdo de estos siniestros personajes, aunque supongo que la gente me mira con cara rara cuando empiezo a decir Two by Two Hands of Blue.
Una de las cosas por las que será bastante recordado este capítulo entre los fans, es por el rescate de la ambulancia de Ariel. La maqueta de tamaño real de la ambulancia fue encontrada en un desguace. Un grupo de aficionados pagó por ella y la están restaurando con el objetivo de conservarla y exponerla.
[Resigned to his fate, Jayne calls Mal one last time.] Jayne: What’re you gonna tell the others? Mal: About what? Jayne: ‘Bout why I’m dead. Mal: I hadn’t thought about it. Jayne: Make something up. Don’t tell ‘em what I did. [Mal relents and closes the door.] Mal: The next time you decide to stab me in the back, have the guts to do it to my face.
